Background

The House of Lords Department of Facilities provides accommodation and facilities management services for Members and staff of the House of Lords. A building and works programme for the House of Lords, catering services, private function facilities, a gift shop, support facilities, front of house, meeting room services and office facilities to the House. The Department comprises of Property & Office Services and Catering and Retail Services. This post is within the department of Property and Office Services.

The Role

The main objective of the role is to assist the Director of Facilities and the Head of Property and Office Services by providing;

  • technical facilities management and operational support to the department with a bias towards hard services;
  • an intelligent client service as a key stakeholder representing the House of Lords 

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general hard services across a range of building service disciplines
  • Ability to assimilate complex technical and financial information, assessing works costs and budgets 
  • To provide high level briefing of technical requirements and assimilation of information, verbally and into briefing papers that will be read by a wide range of stakeholders some with no technical knowledge
